Latest News on the Shenarts Co-Op

The Founding Board of the Shenarts Co-op has now met twice since our general informational meeting.  We have elected to call the store on the Old Winchester Walking Mall a co-op instead of a collective since this title reflects, in the long run, the democratically elected board with a franchise including all juried artists exhibiting in the gallery space plus any members deemed necessary by the Shenarts General Board.  Until we actually have a group of juried, exhibiting artists the Founding Board is being filled provisionally by people who have or will agree to fulfill specific functions necessary to founding the Co-op.  These latter currently include: Joe Bourgeois, President; Kathy Guzman, Vice President and Secretary; Doug Stallard, Liaison to the General Board; Jill Donnelli, Treasurer and Construction Manager; and Kevin Slick, Social Media.

There is much to do, and our intention is to bring the physical presence of the store into actuality while concurrently identifying other necessary functions for the thriving of the Co-op and people to fulfill them.  If you have suggestions, you can contact me at joe@bourgeoisfurniture.com, and these shall be brought to the Board’s notice.
